Intermediate Oil Painting
Whether you prefer realism or abstraction, we will discover what makes a painting work.
Kathy will provide information about the elements of a painting to consider and how to strengthen your composition as well as your use of color and value. Attendees should have some experience painting with oils, mixing color and using linseed oil, etc. Water-based oils are fine also.
Class members should bring their own materials, including references for the subject matter if desired.
Tuesdays: February 5, 12, 19, 26 from 10:00 am – 12:30 pm
Cost: $100 for the month
Instructor: Kathleen Truax
Kathy has painted in oils for 40 years, having taken many courses in life drawing & painting, design, landscape painting, & abstract painting. She has participated in Sonoma County Art Trails for the past 4 years. In recent years, she is excited to resolve the controversy that for some painters have existed between realism and abstraction.
